This is great! the chords changes are awesome the melody towards the end was lovely. If there is a way to improve this I would say, try to make some of the chord changes a little smoother whether this is done with dynamics or leaving a few strings to flow into the next chord before they change it may help or smooth transition. But I really liked and I am just being nit picky, maybe it will help :)

Goran1990 responds:

Hey, OmegaP, thanks for the response.

Yes, I could've done that, but since it was for the game and with tight schedule, I hope you will forgive me for some minor mistakes :)

Also, barre in mind, it's always how the client wants it and he liked this version very much!

I bit to dissonant, but I can dig it :)

itbegins responds:

Thanks for liking it (and thanks for the follow/fan/whatever you call it here) :). The dissonance is by purpose to make it more creepy haha

Oh, the mesh of synths in this is really interesting and fun to listen to, I love the evolving melody too, very clever switch more minor to major (i think?).

BenTibbetts responds:

Thanks very much! Yes, it transitions from a minor key to a major key around 2:07.

Pretty cool, I would really like the guitar to have little more crunch and precedence in the mix. Also, it may be a good idea to take more advantage of panning, i felt like everything was in the middle. Really liked the the main arp!

Syzion responds:

True, I've not been thinking about the panning.
Thank you for your advice, I will take it with gratitude!

Wow, really nice, very smooth, great transitions. Think that the drums just got a little buried somewhere, mainly the punch of the kick.

larrynachos responds:

Yeah, I'm still trying to find better drum samples, and I'm terrible at mixing. Thanks for the review!

I think the hats are a bit loud, otherwise great job.

EPSSounds responds:

appreciate it. Yea, i'm just a loud hat kind of guy. But your right, now that someone mentioned it there. Thanks!

This is extremely unique and I love that you tried a lot of different things with this track to make it fun to listen to. You also created a great atmosphere. One thing that needs work is the mix, the drums felt kind of buried in a couple spots or like they were really competing with something, the lead could use a bit more grit, maybe use an overdrive plug-in on it? But overall I really liked it, some great ideas in here.

AinigmA responds:

Hey OmegaP,
thanks for your advice! I really appreciate it when people listen to my music and give such constructive feedback! I'll definitely adjust the lead (since it really sounds mashed up, lot of undefined middle frequencies that i didn't even notice in the first place) and the drums!
Cheers!

Powerful as always, I really love the deep sub it is just perfect!

Phonometrologist responds:

I appreciate the encouragement. Did it provide a powerful sleep? I tend to write stuff like this to help my thoughts drift quite a bit. Never intended this to be listened to directly, nor do I expect people to be very productive in their work while listening to it.

The musical ideas in this are very good the melody and the harmony work together really well. I liked 1:01 where it kind of had that breakdown with a cool chord progression. A couple of technicals that I think could be improved. 1) the main lead was way to loud at some points it was almost hard to listen to the music because that is all I could hear 2) The drums were muddy and did not sit in the mix as good as they could have, with that said for some reason the breakdown at 1:00 the kick really came through the mix, I don't know if you used a different sample or what, but I would use that kick for the whole song. The snare need to snap more and it was very burried so I would bring that up a bit, esp for drum and bass you need a snappy snare. I like all of the tom rolls in the begging and the end but to make them sit in the mix better I would pan them and also bring them up along with the snare. I think that the claps in the background were great! 3)Lastly some of the transitions in the song were a little weird for example around :37 the lead just dropped out and it made the song feel disjointed. However your use of pads was very could!

Ok, so keep up the good work and I wish you the best of luck :) Also, if you have any question about what I said feel free to PM me.

Wayv responds:

Thanks for the feedback! It was all very helpful! I actually used only one kick sample, and was a little baffled myself as to why it didn't have as much presence at times. I was going for a little bit of a cinematic feel, sort of...? So, I was trying hard not to let the drums dominate the song. I need to work on the balance though, yeah.
Thanks again!

I know the low rating feeling :( But here are a couple of things that may help improve those ratings.

First off, I don't think that this is a heavy metal song so try labeling your songs correctly, this may be closer to a hip hop loop.
Second, the song needs to be mastered so that it competes volume wise with other tracks on this site, so at the very least put a limiter on you 2bus.
Lastly, it is boring, there is no change in the song at all if you are going to use loops like this it is always good to add variance and make it a longer so that it is a full song.

Hopeful this helps! But you have a good start.

EuphoriaSound responds:

I picked the "Heavy metal" on purpose this time.

It took 2 minuts to make & I do not expect big surprising ratings.
